A young man has been hospitalised after reportedly attempting to test the effectiveness of a spiritual fortification, popularly known as “juju,” by cutting himself with a cutlass, an experiment that went badly wrong.
According to friends who visited him at the hospital, the man had recently undergone the fortification and later decided to test whether it worked by cutting himself with the sharp object.
Contrary to what he expected, the cutlass cut through, indicating that the fortification had failed, leaving him with injuries that required immediate medical attention.
Video from the hospital shows him lying in bed, connected to a drip, with visible bandages on his arm and leg.
The incident has since circulated online, drawing a mix of concern and amusement from social media users, many of whom cautioned against testing claims of spiritual protection through self-harm.
His current condition and the specific circumstances surrounding the fortification have not been fully disclosed.
