Mary Njoku warns against giving in to pressure

Nigerian actress Mary Njoku has issued a stern warning against giving in to societal pressure. The actress, on her Instagram page, stated that society tends to dictate how people should live.

Njoku explained how pressure works, noting that public figures are prone to fall victim of such pressures to live above their means.

“When you have some fame and money, the world suddenly starts deciding how you should live your life. People will pressure you to spend above your means to match their expectations of who they think you should be. Don’t let them!. The moment anything goes wrong and the light goes off, the same people will turn it back on. And you will be standing in the darkness alone. Don’t let people pressure you into performing success instead of building stability,” she wrote.

Njoku also urged people not to give strangers the power to control their lives. She reminded them of their real life, noting that it is what matters mote than online perception.

“Most people don’t actually want control of your life because they love you; they enjoy influencing it while sitting comfortably in their own homes, living however they choose, without your opinion affecting them. Don’t give up your Real life for their amusement. Don’t hand them the remote. You don’t know how much time you have left”, she added.
