The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its screening exercise for aspirants seeking tickets for the 2027 House of Assembly elections, with a large number reportedly failing to make the final list.

The screening committee was said to havenreviewed applications from more than one hundred hopefuls across the 24 constituencies in the state. The exercise, which is part of preparations for the party’s internal primaries, was designed to assess eligibility, political standing, and compliance with party guidelines.

Findings from the process indicate that about 105 aspirants were not cleared to proceed to the next stage. The decision reportedly followed strict vetting procedures, although the party has not publicly released a detailed breakdown of the criteria used for the disqualification.

Some of the affected aspirants were said to be incumbent lawmakers, while others were first-time contenders.
