MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has announced of its planned power outage in parts of Enugu Metropolis.

MEDL who disclosed this in a statement made available to Daily News Nigeria on Saturday, explained that the planned outage commencing on Sunday is to provide safety for their engineers working on industrial lines.

The statement reads in parts:

“MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) wishes to inform its customers in parts of Enugu metropolis of a planned power outage scheduled to take place on Sunday, 10th May, 2026, from 8:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m.
.
“The planned outage is to provide a safe working environment for our engineers to conclude work on the reconstructed Emene Industrial Lines 1 and 2 tower, as well as carry out the restringing of wires.

“As a result, power supply to the following 33KV lines will be temporarily disrupted: Trans Ekulu, Thinkers Corner, Ituku Ozalla, and Ugwogo.

“Consequently, customers residing in Trans Ekulu, Emene, Thinkers Corner, Emenite, Airport, Alo Aluminium, Akpuoga, Nkwubor, Ugwuomu, Abakpa Nike, Nike Lake, Ugwogo, and surrounding areas served by the affected 33KV lines will be without electricity supply during the period of the exercise.

“We sincerely regret the inconvenience this may cause our esteemed customers and appeal for their understanding and cooperation, especially customers served by Emene Industrial Lines 1 and 2 who have been without supply for some days.

“Power supply will be restored immediately after the completion of the exercise.
