Nigerian reality TV star and media personality, Mercy Eke, has opened up about what she considers a dealbreaker when it comes to relationships and marriage.
Speaking during a recent interview online, the former Big Brother Naija winner shared her thoughts on domestic responsibilities within relationships.
She explained that she only enjoys cooking occasionally, stressing that love alone would not be enough to make her cook every day.
She added that any man who desires freshly prepared meals daily should consider hiring a chef instead.
According to her, “I can’t marry or date a man who wants me to cook for him regularly.
I only cook once in a while when I am in the mood. If you want fresh food every day, hire a chef.
It can’t be me.” She maintained that love could never compel her to cook for a man daily, insisting she isn’t suited for that kind of relationship dynamic, though she acknowledged that other women out there would happily take on that role, which she said is perfectly fine.
She advised that this is exactly why it’s important for people to marry those whose expectations align with what they can offer, adding that anyone who marries her and expects not to eat leftover food overnight should know that isn’t who she is, since she simply cannot cook every day.
