TEHRAN, July 5 (Xinhua) — A two-day farewell ceremony of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei began here at Imam Khomeini’s Mosalla prayer hall on Saturday morning.
Huge crowds of Iranians from across the country gathered to pay their final respects to the late leader, who was killed in a U.S.-Israeli strike in Tehran on Feb. 28.
The late leader’s body and those of his four family members, killed alongside him in the U.S.-Israeli strike, have been placed on a raised platform.
