The Matawalle Political Movement (MPM) in Zamfara State has congratulated prominent sons of the state appointed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 campaign council.

The movement, which is loyal to the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for recognising the political contributions of key Zamfara leaders.

Among those appointed are former Governor and Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, who was named Director-General of the campaign council; Matawalle, appointed Deputy Director for Security and Intelligence I; and Governor Dauda Lawal, who was named to the Stakeholders Mobilisation Committee.

The movement also congratulated former governors Ahmad Sani Yerima and Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi on their inclusion in the campaign structure.

According to MPM, the appointments have placed Zamfara in a strategic position ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group recalled that Zamfara and the wider North-West played a significant role in Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election, noting that Matawalle served as the North-West Campaign Coordinator during the election.

“While serving as the North-West Campaign Coordinator in 2023, Matawalle secured the region for Tinubu to earn overwhelming votes to win the election,” the statement said.

MPM assured President Tinubu that the Zamfara representatives would work towards delivering the state and strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

The movement wished all the appointees success in their respective roles and congratulated them on their inclusion in the campaign council.
