Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I Installed As New Leader Of Kristo Asafo Mission

Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, a son of the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Emeritus Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, has been installed as the new leader of the church.

The installation ceremony was held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, with church members, elders, and supporters present to witness the leadership transition following the passing of the renowned inventor and religious leader.

His elevation follows a selection process conducted by the church’s Council of Elders, in line with the Kristo Asafo Mission’s constitution, which allows a successor to be chosen from among the founder’s sons.

The installation comes at a time of tension within the Kristo Asafo family over the succession of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo.

Some family members have challenged the decision through legal channels, disputing the process that led to Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I’s selection.

Despite the disagreements, church leaders maintain that the process followed the institution’s constitution and traditions.

As the new leader, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I is expected to oversee the spiritual and administrative affairs of the Kristo Asafo Mission while continuing the vision of his late father.

The Kristo Asafo Mission is known for its focus on self-reliance, technological innovation, and spiritual development in Ghana.
