The Registrar of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, has commissioned and handed over a newly constructed and furnished palace to the Mai-Anguwan Gidan Mangoro as part of the council’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to its host community in Niger state.
The commissioning ceremony, held on September 10, 2026, was marked by celebrations and commendations from members of the community, who described the project as a landmark development.
According to a statement shared via NECO’s official X handle on Monday, September 14, the newly constructed palace represents a significant intervention by the examination body in its host community.
The council said the people of Gidan Mangoro regarded the transformation of the palace into a modern and well-furnished structure as an “unprecedented development” in the history of the community.

In appreciation of the gesture, the community turbaned Wushishi as the Majidadin Gidan Mangoro, a title bestowed on him as a demonstration of gratitude for the project.
“10th September, 2026, will remain a memorable and gratifying day in the history of NECO,” the statement said.
It added that the event was characterised by “pomp and pageantry” as well as encomium from members of the community who celebrated what they described as a first-of-its-kind gesture from an organisation.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, members of NECO’s management staff and royal fathers from within and outside the community.
