The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, has stated that the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has resumed the disbursement of upkeep allowances to eligible student beneficiaries.
Akinteye made the announcement in a post shared on his official X handle on Thursday, July 16, assuring students that the payments would continue until all outstanding beneficiaries had been credited.
According to him, the resumption of the disbursement is official, dismissing concerns over delays in the payment process.

“It is official, NELFUND upkeep payments have resumed,” he wrote.
The NANS President said he would not provide students with unverified information, stressing that his updates were based on confirmed developments.
“I have a name to protect than to update you all on what’s not real,” he stated.
He further assured beneficiaries that the payment process would continue until everyone entitled to the upkeep allowance had received payment.
“The payment will continues until everyone is paid,” Akinteye added.
