The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Gombe Operations Office, says it has successfully handed over relief materials to 745 beneficiaries at the Deradicalization, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (DRR) Camp located in Malam Sidi, Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State.
The Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, was represented at the event by the Zonal Director, North-East Zone, Mr. Sulaiman Yakubu Abdullahi, during the graduation ceremony and official handover of the relief materials.
The Zonal Director was accompanied by the Head of NEMA Gombe Operations Office, Hajiya Ummuna Ahmed, alongside other staff of the Agency.
The beneficiaries, who have been undergoing deradicalization, rehabilitation, and reintegration programmes under Operation Safe Corridor, have been in the camp since April 2025. During this period, they received comprehensive moral reorientation, as well as vocational and skills acquisition training designed to support their reintegration into society.
Speaking at the event, the representative of the Director General reaffirmed NEMA’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and contributing to sustainable peacebuilding initiatives across the country.
The relief materials were formally handed over to the Camp Coordinator, Brigadier General Y. Ali, for onward distribution to the beneficiaries. The items are intended to serve as starter packs to support the graduates as they transition back into their communities and engage in productive livelihoods.
The event was well attended and provided an opportunity to further reinforce the Agency’s commitment to supporting ongoing peacebuilding and rehabilitation efforts under Operation Safe Corridor.(Source NEMA, Facebook)
