A young lady who has reportedly been newly employed at a local kenkey joint has allegedly been apprehended after allegedly stealing GH¢17,000 only two to three hours after starting work.
According to reports, the lady had been employed at the food joint when the owner reportedly discovered that a large amount of money was missing.
The owner is said to have immediately started searching for the woman after realising that she was no longer around. She had allegedly fled the area shortly after the money went missing.
She was later reportedly traced to a drinking spot, where she was found in the company of her boyfriend. She was apprehended, but her boyfriend allegedly managed to flee immediately after she was caught.
During questioning, the lady reportedly confessed to taking the money and other items from the business. She allegedly told those interrogating her that she had handed the money and the other items over to her boyfriend.
The incident has attracted attention because of how quickly the alleged theft occurred, with the woman reportedly spending only a few hours at her new workplace before the money went missing.
The exact circumstances surrounding the alleged theft, the amount recovered and whether the lady has been handed over to the police were not immediately known as of the time this report was filed.
