A Nigerian lady has reportedly been left disappointed after ordering what she believed was an original iPhone 14 Pro from China, only to discover that the device was a counterfeit version.
According to reports circulating online, the lady paid about ₦300,000 for the phone, expecting to receive Apple’s premium smartphone.
However, after receiving the device and switching it on, she noticed something unusual that exposed the phone as fake.
While genuine iPhones are known for displaying Apple’s famous welcome message “Hello” when setting up a new device, the phone she received reportedly displayed “Hallo” instead.
The small spelling difference immediately raised suspicion and made her realise she had been deceived.
A video showing her reaction has attracted attention online, with the lady appearing emotional and disappointed over the purchase.
Despite being fake, many social media users noted that the device looked almost identical to the original iPhone 14 Pro, making it difficult for an unsuspecting buyer to identify the difference at first glance.
The incident has sparked conversations about the risks of purchasing expensive gadgets from unverified online sellers, with many warning buyers to carefully check sellers, product authenticity, and reviews before making payments.
