The National Sugar Development Council’s Executive Secretary, Kamar Bakrin, has received praise from State Minister for Industry John Enoh for the organization’s changes.
Enoh gave the praise during an official visit to the Nigerian Sugar Institute in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Wednesday while urging the institute to start full operations, according to a statement provided to PUNCH Online on Thursday.
He emphasized that the institute must operate at its best as a center for innovation, technological know-how, and capacity building in Nigeria’s sugar industry.
The minister claims that the institute is strategically important to Nigeria’s efforts to industrialize and become self-sufficient in sugar production.
The NSDC Executive Secretary is enthusiastic, determined, and dedicated to accomplishing the NSI’s goals, in my opinion. Enoh stated that the Institute’s recent policy changes, capacity building, and infrastructure improvements are highly praiseworthy.
However, I have to implore the Executive Secretary to keep working until this facility is completely operational. This is due to the vital role the Institute plays in our efforts to boost domestic production and industrialize the sugar industry,” he continued.
He called for continued cooperation among stakeholders to change the sector and reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to helping the NSDC and the NSI fulfill their objectives.
