The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has introduced a localised weather tracker designed to provide users with weather information tailored to their specific locations.
The agency said the service will enable users to receive regular updates on prevailing weather conditions wherever they are.
Beyond weather forecasts, the tracker will provide agricultural information, including the onset and cessation dates of the rainy season and other seasonal farming insights specific to users’ locations.
NiMet said users will also receive timely alerts on changing weather conditions, helping them make informed decisions and prepare for potential weather-related risks.
The agency urged Nigerians to download the NiMet Weather App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to access the service.
