Social media commentator Daniel Regha has called out Bishop David Oyedepo following the expiration of the 7-day period the cleric earlier mentioned while declaring divine judgment against bandits and their sponsors.
Daniel Regha shared his reaction online after fresh reports of attacks and killings surfaced in different parts of Nigeria.
Oyedepo Earlier Declared Judgment on Bandits
Bishop Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, had during a church service tagged “Covenant Day of Vengeance” declared that divine retribution would come upon bandits within seven days.
The cleric made the declaration while addressing the rising insecurity, kidnappings, and killings across the country.
During the sermon, he said: “Except I am not sent, in the next seven days, I declare judgment upon those responsible for these disasters and their sponsors in Jesus’ name.”
Daniel Regha Reacts
Reacting to the declaration after the seven days reportedly elapsed, Daniel Regha questioned why attacks by bandits were still being reported across the country.
According to him, several violent incidents allegedly occurred within the last 24 to 48 hours despite the prophecy.
Regha Lists Recent Security Incidents
In his post, the commentator highlighted several reports of attacks allegedly carried out by bandits and militants in different states.
He mentioned reports involving attacks in Kogi, Benue, Katsina, Plateau, Ondo State, and Northeastern Nigeria.
Daniel Regha also referred to reports of killings, abductions, and assaults on communities and families.
“It Didn’t Work”
Questioning the outcome of the bishop’s declaration, the social media critic wrote:
“Oyedepo declared divine judgment on bandits within seven days, 7 DAYS. This was reported on the 19th of April 2026. Now 7 days has ended, but it’s been one news about bandits attacking after the other.
-Gvnmen just raided a Nigerian orphanage and abducted children.
-Bandits seen on video assaulting a family mercilessly in Kabba-Bunu LGA, Kogi State.
-Militants with the Islamic state group attacked a village overnight in Northeastern Nigeria, k’lling at least 29 people.
-Seven residents k’lled as after bandits launched an attack on Benue community.
-Bandits abducted a farm manager in Ondo State.
-Over 11 persons lost with many seriously injured after bandits attacked a Katsina community
-Bandits k’lled a pastor, his wife and two children in Plateau State.
This are just a few headlines in the last 24-48hrs. So what happened to his declaration, and divine retribution? It didn’t work.”
