NYSC adjusts orientation dates for Enugu, Osun corps members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream Two orientation exercise for corps members deployed to Enugu and Osun will run from April 28 to May 18.

The Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, explaining the schedule adjustment for the affected states.

Embu said the orientation exercise in Enugu and Osun would begin one week after the commencement in other states and the Federal Capital Territory due to logistical considerations.

She attributed the change to ongoing renovation works at the orientation camps by the respective state governments, which required a shift in dates to ensure facilities were adequately prepared.

According to her, the slight adjustment became necessary due to extensive upgrades at the camps, urging affected prospective corps members to take note of the revised dates and comply accordingly.

Embu added that the orientation exercise for the remaining 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory would hold from April 22 to May 12 as earlier scheduled.

She wished all prospective corps members safe travels to their respective states of deployment, encouraging them to participate fully in the exercise as part of their national service obligations.

The three week orientation programme is the first phase of the one year national service, designed to prepare corps members for their primary assignments.
