Chelsea have confirmed the permanent exit of defender Marc Cucurella, with the Spain international completing a move to Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old leaves Stamford Bridge after three seasons and returns to his homeland in a deal reportedly worth €55 million, with a further €5 million in performance-related add-ons.
Real Madrid have handed Cucurella a long-term contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 2032.
End of three-year Chelsea spell
Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2022 and went on to establish himself as a regular member of the first-team squad.
During his time in west London, the left-back helped the Blues win the UEFA Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
He also remained a key figure for Spain at international level and was part of the squad that won the UEFA European Championship in 2024.
Chelsea paid tribute to the defender following the completion of the transfer.

Real Madrid strengthen defensive options
The move sees Real Madrid add an experienced international defender to their squad as they continue preparations for the new season.
Cucurella arrives with significant experience in both the Premier League and international football, having made his name at Brighton before earning his move to Chelsea.
His ability to operate as a left-back or wing-back, and strong defensive qualities are expected to provide additional depth for new manager Jose Mourinho.
The transfer marks the end of Cucurella’s chapter in English football and the beginning of a new challenge with one of Europe’s most successful clubs.
