The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his role in advancing the long-standing Gateway Deep Seaport project and the Blue Marine Special Economic Zone

The govwrnor said the vision of developing a deep seaport along Ogun’s coastline had remained unrealised for nearly 30 years despite being proposed, discussed and captured in official documents.
In a statement, the governor described Tinubu as the “Facilitator-in-Chief” of the transformational project, saying his administration had provided the strategic direction and enabling environment needed to revive the long-standing plan.
“Great nations are not built on intentions alone, but by leaders with the political will to turn possibilities into progress,” the statement said.
According to the him, the Gateway Deep Seaport and Blue Marine Special Economic Zone would open a new chapter for Ogun State by strengthening its position in global trade, maritime commerce and industrialisation.
It also said the projects would contribute to Nigeria’s broader economic development and enhance the country’s participation in global maritime commerce.
The Ogun Governor expressed gratitude to Tinubu and the Federal Government for their support and commitment to the project.
“Posterity will indeed be kind to you, Mr President,” the statement added.
