The Chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Osborn Nweze Umahi, has asked the council’s 11 wards to submit five priority projects each for consideration in his administration’s action plan.
Umahi made the call during an expanded stakeholders’ meeting held at Osborn Hotel.
The council chairman directed ward councillors to consult their communities and submit five projects considered most important to their respective wards.
The exercise could result in up to 55 proposed projects across the 11 wards, although the council has yet to indicate which of the proposals will be approved for implementation.
Umahi said the initiative was part of his administration’s approach to governance and community engagement.
“People are very happy & I have introduced a new style of leadership,” he said.
The chairman said the ward-based approach would allow residents to identify and communicate projects they consider most pressing in their communities.
The proposed projects will be considered for possible inclusion in the council’s action plan.
Details on the criteria for selecting the projects, available funding and timelines for implementation were not provided in the statement.
The council is expected to review the submissions from the 11 wards before determining the projects to be prioritised and implemented.
