Speaking in an interview with News Central TV, the retired general said Nigeria is a signatory to several international laws and conventions governing armed conflict. He stressed that, as a professional military, Nigerian troops must comply with these rules. According to Musa, “Internationally, we are signatories to so many laws and conventions. Being a professional armed force, if you’re fighting an enemy and he drops his weapon, raises his hands, and surrenders, you are bound not to kill him because that would be cold-blooded murder.”
