Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has distanced himself from the newly fashioned opposition coalition led by high political figures in Benue, insisting it has no future and poses no menace to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, July 21, Ortom stated he has no intention of becoming a member of the coalition floated below the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which has attracted former Senate President David Mark and ex-Governor Gabriel Suswam.
“People are free to join any coalition that they so wish, but for me, and the people that I lead, we remain in PDP. I’m the leader of PDP in Benue State and a member of the BoT,” Ortom stated.
“I’m not becoming a member of any coalition. We haven’t any enterprise with that. I don’t see it surviving.

“In any case, even if they survive, if they are through with the litigation that is going on, they will be defeated hands down.”
Ortom’s remarks come amid heightened political exercise following the exit of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the PDP and his backing of the brand new alliance.
However, Ortom made it clear that his loyalty stays with the PDP and that the social gathering stays sturdy in Benue below his management.
He additionally touched briefly on his determination to oppose Atiku in the course of the 2023 presidential election, insisting he had no regrets.
