Senator Adams Oshiomhole has urged former President Goodluck Jonathan to not bow to strain to contest the 2027 presidential election, saying doing so would harm his legacy.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics on October 5, Oshiomhole stated these pushing Jonathan to return to the race weren’t performing in his greatest curiosity.
He argued that the All Progressives Congress, APC, would simply defeat Jonathan once more if he determined to run.
“How can Jonathan be a threat? We defeated him before, when PDP was truly PDP. If a man had PDP at its peak, I think it is only his enemies that will push him into the ring,” Oshiomhole stated.

The former APC nationwide chairman added that Jonathan had earned respect and relevance since leaving workplace, urging him to not throw that away for one more political gamble.
“That may not be helpful to him. I think he has managed to demonstrate that out of power you can be relevant and really at peace,” he stated.
“If I will be able to advise him, I will say ‘Sir, maintain this status’. If I were him I will spend the rest of my life trying to find relevance, which he has already found,” Oshiomhole added.
Jonathan, who ran because the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2015, misplaced the presidential election to late President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC.
