The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has dismissed reports that the party and its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, have filed a petition challenging the outcome of the August 15 governorship election.

The Campaign Council, in a statement, described the report as false and mischievous, insisting that neither the APC nor its candidate has filed any petition before the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

It said the purported claim was nothing more than a rumour being circulated by individuals allegedly seeking to mislead members of the public and create unnecessary tension in the state.

The Council therefore urged members of the public, APC supporters and the media to disregard the report and refrain from giving credibility to information that has not been verified through official channels.

It stressed that the APC and Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji remain committed to lawful and democratic processes, as well as peace, stability and the interests of the people of Osun State.

The Campaign Council advised the public to rely only on official statements from the APC and the Campaign Council on matters relating to the party, its candidate and the outcome of the August 15 governorship election.
