Osun APC Mourns As Chieftain, Pharmacist Oyagbile Dies At 80

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has mourned the passing of one of its chieftains, Pharmacist Israel Ademola Oyagbile.

A statement by the spokesperson for Osun APC, Kola Olabisi, on Sunday, said the eldest child of the deceased, Barrister Seyi Olagbile, disclosed that his father died in Osogbo on Friday after a protracted sickness at the age of 80.

The late Pa Oyagbile, according to the statement, combined activism with politics in the concerted efforts to vote out the reactionary political entities from the theatre of government in Osun State during the 2007 general elections in the state.

The late Pharmacist Oyagbile, an associate of Pharmacist (Prince) Felix Awofisayo, hailed from Ward 4, Eekoosin town, in the Odo-Otin Local Government Council Area of Osun State.

The deceased is survived by two widows and many children, among whom is Barrister Oluwaseyi Oyagbile, who is a well-known attorney in both Osun and Lagos states.

The state chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, described Pa Oyagbile’s death as one too many.

Lawal recalled that Pa Oyagbile was one of the elders of the party who was fond of speaking the truth to the authorities without minding whose ox is gored.

He said the death of Pa Oyagbile was a monumental loss to the party, whose replacement would be difficult to fill.

He commiserated with the biological and political families of the deceased, praying to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of their patriarch.

The burial of the remains of his dad will hold on 29th August, 2026, at Eekoosin, Odo Otin Local Government Council Area of the state.
