The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the just-concluded Osun State election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has commended party members, leaders, supporters and voters for their commitment and sacrifices throughout the electioneering period.
Bola Oyebamiji, in a statement issued said although the outcome of the election was not what his party had hoped for, he respected the position of the electoral umpire and supported the APC’s decision to review the outcome of the poll.
He expressed appreciation to voters who supported his candidacy, as well as campaign volunteers, party members and leaders across the state for their contributions to the campaign.
Bola Oyebamiji said the values and vision presented during the campaign remained relevant to the development of Osun State.
The APC candidate urged his supporters to remain engaged, organised and committed to working for the collective good of the state, stressing that the end of the election campaign should not mark the end of efforts toward effective, inclusive and rapid development of Osun.
The APC Governorship Candidate however, raised concerns over alleged attacks on APC members and supporters in the post-election period, saying the violence witnessed in the build-up to the election had taken another dimension within the 24 hours preceding his statement.
He called on the Osun State Government, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to intervene and halt the trend.
He also appealed to APC members and supporters to remain calm and peaceful as they go about their daily activities, while thanking voters, party leaders, members and supporters for their confidence and commitment.
