Osun Guber Poll: Electorate will choose me as governor – Oyebamiji

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has declared that the electorate in the state will make history by electing him governor in the forthcoming election.

Oyebamiji made the assertion during a meeting with members of the Association of Mobile Telecommunication Engineers of Nigeria, Osun State chapter, in Osogbo on Sunday.

The Osun APC gubernatorial candidate, who was represented at the event by the Chairman of Civic Engagement of the APC Campaign Council, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, also expressed optimism about the outcome of the poll.

He stated that voters across the state would turn out en masse to support him and the APC in the election scheduled for August 15.

According to him, “History will be made on August 15 as I will be elected governor of the state. I am confident and hopeful in God and in you that it will be my day.”

Oyebamiji added that the election would mark a return to what he described as a progressive path for Osun State.

“History will also be made as Osun returns to the progressive path, and I count on you to make that happen,” he said.

He described governance as a serious responsibility requiring commitment and focus and noted that he was prepared to deliver the dividends of democracy.

The APC candidate explained that his administration would prioritise policies aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the state.

He outlined plans to adopt a comprehensive governance approach focusing on economic security, healthcare, education and social protection.

Oyebamiji said his “administration would expand social safety nets to reduce poverty and improve social security for vulnerable groups.”

He also pledged to “create opportunities for economic growth by supporting small-scale enterprises and encouraging the expansion of large businesses through funding, capacity building and infrastructure development.”

Addressing members of the association, he acknowledged the importance of telecommunications in economic and business development, assuring them of support if elected.

He disclosed that his policy agenda, code-named “PROSPER”, would be fully implemented to improve living standards, while urging stakeholders to disregard what he described as a campaign of calumny against him.

Earlier, the President of the association, Abdulrasaki Ejalonibu, assured the candidate of the support and votes of its members, noting that they were encouraged by the recognition and support they received during the administration of Adegboyega Oyetola.

The association urged Oyebamiji to fulfil his promises if elected.
