The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Ademola Aderinto, disclosed this throughout an interview in his workplace, defined that the motion is focused at regulating the actions of steel scavengers, popularly generally known as “BOLA,” with the intention to stop infrastructure vandalism, improve public security and promote environmental sustainability throughout the state.
Hon. Aderinto reiterated that the Ministry has a statutory duty to maintain Oyo State clear and free from actions that pose environmental and public well being hazards, noting that unchecked scavenging has contributed to environmental degradation and insecurity in some components of the state.
