–According to report by Vanguard News on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Fifteen-year-old Bello Hassan, one of the pupils rescued after the abduction of students and teachers from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has recounted his 56-day ordeal in captivity, saying the experience has not diminished his determination to return to the classroom.
Speaking after his discharge from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, where he and other rescued victims received medical attention and psychological care, Hassan narrated how gunmen invaded his school while he was writing a test.
