A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to call out Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa, alleging that she refused to pay her salary after she worked for her as a sales representative.
In a viral video circulating online, she claimed she accepted the job despite being a graduate due to the country’s economic hardship and limited employment opportunities.
“I’m just here to tell you guys to help me beg Funmi Awelewa to pay my salary. I’m a graduate, but there is no job in the country. I even have a little business I do for myself, but it is not moving, so I accepted to be a sales rep,” she said.
According to her, she was often sent on errands, including shopping and inspecting properties, while also handling personal tasks for the actress.
The lady further alleged that she sustained an injury while working at one of the actress’ stores and later requested part of her salary to seek medical treatment.
“I’ve been working with you for like 16 days now. I’m not telling you to give me money. Give me half of my salary and let me go and treat myself. But she replied that she is not ready to pay me a dime and blocked me,” she alleged.
She also claimed to have reported the matter to the police, adding that the actress allegedly declined an invitation to appear.
As of the time of filing this report, Funmi Awelewa has not publicly responded to the allegations.
