The Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party has taken steps to fix inner cracks by establishing a reconciliation committee forward of its elective nationwide conference scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The determination adopted an emergency assembly of the BoT held on Wednesday, November 5, in Abuja.
According to a communique signed by the BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, the committee’s mandate is to revive concord amongst aggrieved members and make sure that the get together presents a united entrance earlier than the conference.
Ambassador Hassan Adamu from the North East will chair the six-member committee, whereas Chief Mike Oghiadomhe from the South South will function secretary.

The board additionally welcomed the current ruling of the Oyo State High Court, which upheld the PDP’s proper to conduct its inner affairs and proceed with the conference as deliberate.
“This landmark ruling is victory to Democracy, Rule of Law and political development in our country,” the BoT declared.

Addressing the current invasion of the get together’s nationwide secretariat, the BoT described the incident as “unfortunate” and unreflective of the PDP’s democratic values.
“As the conscience of the party, the BoT cannot and will not take sides but remains focused on safeguarding the integrity of the PDP and ensuring dialogue over discord,” the assertion added.
