The crisis rocking the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took a new dimension on Monday as the faction backed by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde appointed Tanimu Turaki as chairman of the party’s interim National Working Committee (NWC).
Turaki emerged as head of the 13-member interim NWC during the party’s 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
PDP BoT summons emergency NEC meeting amid leadership dispute
This comes barely a few days after the Supreme Court nullified the party’s convention held in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, where Turaki emerged as the PDP chairman.
