The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Umar Iliya Damagum, alongside Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and different prime celebration figures, appeared on the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, October 31, because the court docket ready to ship its verdict on the celebration’s upcoming nationwide conference.
The case was filed by three members of the PDP, Austin Nwachukwu, the Imo State chairman, Amah Nnanna, the Abia State chairman, and Turnah George, the South-South Secretary.
The trio urged the court docket to cease the conference, arguing that the deliberate train would violate the PDP’s structure.
In August, the PDP Governors’ Forum had issued a warning to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and others, cautioning them in opposition to actions that would disrupt the conference, which is scheduled to happen in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15, 2025.

The celebration not too long ago postponed the screening of aspirants for nationwide workplaces, explaining that the delay was brought on by “unforeseen circumstances.”
“The National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has put on hold the screening of aspirants for the 2025 Elective National Convention, earlier scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025, due to unforeseen circumstances,” the PDP mentioned in an announcement signed by the chairman of the conference committee and Adamawa State Governor, Umaru Fintiri.
“A new date will be communicated once fixed. The NCOC regrets any inconvenience caused by the postponement,” the assertion added.
