PDP To Hold NEC Meeting May 4

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has fixed Monday, May 4, 2026, for its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

NewsWatch Nigeria reports that the party made the announcement through its official social media page on Saturday.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at 2:00 pm and will follow a resolution reached by a two-thirds majority of NEC members in line with the party’s constitution. The party explained that the decision was made under the relevant section of its rules guiding internal operations.

Only statutory members of the NEC are expected to attend the gathering. Those invited include state governors elected on the PDP platform, party members in the National Assembly caucus, members of the Board of Trustees, state party chairmen, and national ex-officio members.

Others expected are former members of the National Working Committee, past governors from the party, principal officers of the National Assembly, and other selected stakeholders who form part of the NEC structure.

The party noted that the meeting will serve as a platform to review key issues affecting its structure and direction. It also pointed out that discussions will focus on strengthening unity and internal processes as preparations continue ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In accordance with the PDP Constitution, attendance to the 103rd meeting is strictly for statutory members of the National Executive Committee,” the notice read.

NEC remains dedicated to the stability, unity and success of the PDP guided by the principles of internal democracy, party discipline, inclusivity of members and the pursuit of the wellbeing of the Nigerian people as we march to victory in the 2027 general elections,” the notice added.
