‘Peter Obi Searching For Free, Unchallenged Presidential Ticket’ – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, is roaming in search of a free, uncontested and unchallenged presidential ticket.

NewsWatch Nigeria reports that the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the remark in a post via 𝕏, while reacting to Peter Obi’s exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Peter Obi made the announcement in a statement shared on his 𝕏 handle on Sunday.

In the statement, Obi described the current political climate as hostile and discouraging, adding that even within political alliances, individuals sometimes face unexpected opposition and criticism.

Obi clarified that his decision was not influenced by any personal issues with party leaders, including David Mark and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

The former governor said recurring internal disputes and legal challenges within the party influenced his exit.

He likened the situation to earlier challenges he faced within the Labour Party, reaffirming his belief in leadership as service, stressing that he has never used power to oppress others.

He also dismissed suggestions that his actions were driven by personal ambition.

Reacting to the development, Morka described Peter Obi as a political rolling stone who gathers no moss.

He said, “Peter Obi is never willing to remain to build any party. He fantasizes to be president on a ticket delivered only a platter of gold.

“He’s a political rolling stone that gathers no moss … roaming again in search of free, uncontested, unchallenged presidential ticket.

“APGA – PDP – LP – ADC on to NDC. Fare thee well, Nigeria’s inconsolable political drifter.”
