The Kebbi Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old Idrisu Musa in connection with the murder of his elder brother, Muhammed Haruna, and his wife, Habiba Muhammed.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
Usman said the couple was attacked with a cutlass while asleep at about 5:15 a.m. on May 9, in Asarara Village, Kimba District, in Jega Local Government Area, adding that both died from their injuries.

“Substantial and implicating evidence linking the suspect to the crime has been recovered.
“The suspect has reportedly threatened the couple with a cutlass on several prior occasions,” he said.
Umar said the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Umar Hadejia, had ordered the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
He assured the public that justice would be pursued diligently. (NAN)
