The Police Command in Osun says it has arrested three suspects linked to the two armed robbery incidents in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi in Osogbo on Thursday.
Ojelabi stated that one of the suspects was arrested on Sunday with a black bag containing one locally made cut to size pistol and a Tecno POP 8.
Other items recovered from suspect include a knife, one Moniepoint ATM card, a catapult, one padlock and one voter’s card discovered inside an uncompleted building.
“Through investigation, owner of the voter’s card was arrested and admitted to the ownership of the said black bag, which contained the locally made pistol and catapult.
“He, however, denied the ownership of the Tecno Android POP 8 and Moniepoint ATM card found inside the bag,” he said.
The command’s spokesperson disclosed that the owner of Tecno phone was contacted and confirmed that the phone was stolen on April 4 her residence.
Ojelabi stated that the owner of phone explained that on the said date, at about 5:00a.m, armed robbers broke into her apartment, dispossessed her of cell phone, N89,000 and Moniepoint ATM card, and the case was reported.
In another development, Ojelabi said on Sunday, a cooking gas seller at Isale-Oyo, Iragbiji, reported that four armed robbers attacked him in his shop at about 10:30p.m.
He said that the robbers shot the victim on both legs before making away with his money, two iPhone 11 Pro Max and an unregistered blue TVS Lady motorcycle.
He said that detectives, through intel, arrested one of the suspects, who fled to Ikirun with the unregistered motorcycle, while another suspect was arrested later.
Ojelabi stated that efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects, while those arrested would be charged to court after the completion of investigations. (NAN)(www.nannews.com)
