Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested three suspects in connection with a case of culpable homicide and suspected armed r0bbery in Gwaram Town, Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesman, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, saying the arrests followed an investigation into a report lodged at the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters on March 7, 2026.

One of the suspects, Muhammad Umar, popularly known as “Jijji,” aged 25, was apprehended on June 19, 2026, while in possession of a motorcycle belonging to the deceased victim.

During interrogation, Umar allegedly confessed to the crime and named two accomplices, prompting detectives to carry out a swift follow-up operation that led to the arrest of Usman M. Gidado, 45, and Danladi Yakubu, alias “Pagaj,” 35, all residents of Gwaram Town in Alkaleri Local Government Area.

The motorcycle belonging to the deceased was recovered as an exhibit during the operation. All three suspects and the recovered exhibit have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for further investigation, after which they are to be charged to court.

The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the operatives for their diligence and professionalism, and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to combating violent crime and ensuring justice for victims.
