The Nigeria Police Force has congratulated Corporal Ezekiel Nathaniel following his gold medal victory in the men’s 400 metres hurdles at the ongoing Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, describing the achievement as a reflection of excellence, discipline and institutional support.
The Force made this known in a statement by its spokesperson, CSP Ani Iniedu, on Saturday, August 1.
Nathaniel produced a dominant performance in the final on Friday night, crossing the finish line in 48.47 seconds to win Nigeria’s first gold medal in the event and improve on his sixth-place finish at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Reacting to the victory, the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, commended the police athlete for bringing honour to both the Nigeria Police Force and the country on the global stage.
