The Nigeria Police Force says its operatives and other security personnel have rescued an abducted man in Kogi State and arrested several suspects in separate operations across eight states.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a state-by-state summary of police operational successes recorded between September 26 and 27, 2026.
In Kogi State, joint security forces rescued an abducted male victim unhurt after sustained bush-combing and rescue operations.
The police said the abductors fled into the forest following the deployment of teargas, while clearance operations continued in identified black spots to apprehend the perpetrators.
In Taraba State, police operatives arrested two suspects following a violent disturbance at UMCN Church, Kwanti Gana.
The police said officers dispersed the mob and restored normalcy, while one suspect was arrested with a knife and hammer.
A follow-up operation led to the arrest of another suspect described by the police as a principal mastermind of the attack.
In Bauchi State, a suspect was arrested in connection with an assault at Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate. Police also recovered the weapon allegedly used in the incident.
Meanwhile, Delta State police responded to an abduction at Owen Village, Ughelli, where an injured victim was evacuated to hospital and a motorcycle was recovered.
Bush-combing operations were ongoing to rescue the abducted victim and apprehend the perpetrators.
In Anambra State, police acting on intelligence intercepted suspected hoodlums conveying a stolen Toyota RAV4 SUV.
The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled into the bush, while the vehicle was recovered.
Police also reported an arrest in Gombe State in connection with a violent attack at Koran Zaki Quarters. Officers said patrols had been intensified as efforts continued to apprehend other suspects still at large.
In Nasarawa State, police arrested a suspect for alleged unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, recovering a locally made revolver pistol and two live rounds.
In a separate incident in the state, police recovered another locally made pistol, one live round and two empty shells during an investigation into a fatal road accident.
The vehicle involved was impounded for further investigation.
The Force said the various cases were under investigation by the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments (SCIDs).
The police said the operations formed part of ongoing efforts to tackle violent crime, abduction, firearms-related offences and other criminal activities across the country.
