The Nigeria Police Force has reported the rescue of four abducted victims and the arrest of 28 suspects in separate operations across several states between September 10 and 12, 2026.
In a statement signed by CSP Ani Iniedu, ANIPR, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, the police said its operational successes included the rescue of three abducted victims in Kaduna, the recovery of another kidnapped victim, and the arrest of suspects linked to kidnapping, armed robbery, culpable homicide, drug dealing and other offences.
In Benue State, police teams comprising the Police Mobile Force, tactical and conventional operatives repelled a large-scale attack by armed bandits on Ayilamo Community on September 10.
According to the police, the operatives forced the attackers to retreat into the forest after inflicting heavy casualties on them.
The case is being investigated by the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Makurdi.
Also on September 10, police operatives in Kaduna State rescued a man and his two sons after they were abducted.
The police said the operatives pursued the armed abductors and engaged them in a gun duel, forcing the assailants to abandon all three victims.

The victims were rescued unharmed and reunited with their family, while the SCID Kaduna commenced an investigation.
In another operation in Kaduna on September 12, police operatives rescued a 60-year-old woman who had been kidnapped.
The police said the operatives engaged the armed assailants during a search and rescue operation, forcing them to flee and abandon the victim.
The woman was taken to hospital for medical attention before she was reunited with her family.
In Anambra State, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad arrested a suspected member of a criminal gang allegedly involved in kidnapping and armed robbery on September 11.
The police said the arrest followed credible intelligence, adding that the suspect confessed and provided information that could assist in apprehending other members of the gang and recovering firearms.
Meanwhile, police surveillance operatives in the Federal Capital Territory arrested three suspected armed robbers during an anti-one-chance patrol along the Kubwa Expressway on September 10.
The suspects were allegedly involved in snatching handbags and mobile phones from commuters.
The police said the suspects also provided information that could assist investigators in arresting other members of the gang.
In Akwa Ibom State, police operatives raided a suspected criminal hideout in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area on September 10, leading to the arrest of three suspected illicit drug dealers.
The operation, which was based on credible intelligence, also led to the recovery of large quantities of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs.
In Kano State, five suspects were arrested on September 10 following an investigation into a suspected abortion-related death.
The police said the suspects were connected to the incident and are being investigated by the SCID, Bompai.
In Sokoto State, police tactical, area command and divisional patrol teams responded to a violent protest in Tambuwal on September 11.
According to the police, the operatives dispersed the rioters without any loss of life or injury and arrested 10 suspects in connection with the disturbance.
In the FCT, police surveillance operatives also arrested a suspect who was allegedly caught attempting to steal a Mercedes-Benz C300.
The police said the arrest followed a distress call and that the suspect was caught while attempting to deactivate the vehicle.
In Enugu State, police operatives arrested a suspect over an alleged case of defilement following a complaint.
The police said the suspect was arrested at the scene and subsequently confessed to the offence.
The various cases are being investigated by the relevant State Criminal Investigation Departments and the Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja, as the police continue efforts to apprehend other suspects linked to the offences.
