Popular Yoruba gospel singer and evangelist G.A. Idowu Aworinde has reportedly passed away at the age of 76.
The renowned gospel musician was said to have died on Monday, August 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of Christian music that touched generations of worshippers across Nigeria.
Church Gist announced the reported death of the veteran singer, with tributes beginning to pour in from those familiar with his music and ministry.
Aworinde Built a Legacy Through Gospel Music
Aworinde, who was visually impaired, became widely known for his gospel music and evangelism, using Yoruba melodies to spread Christian messages and teachings.
Through his music, he reached countless Yoruba-speaking Christian families and became a respected voice in the gospel music community.
The late evangelist was also a member of Victory Voices Spiritual Singers, a group through which he recorded and performed several of his popular songs.
