Defending champions, Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the UEFA Champions League final after edging past Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate following a tense 1-1 draw in Wednesday night’s semi-final second leg at the Allianz Arena.
The French champions will now face Arsenal  in a blockbuster final after surviving a fierce late Bayern comeback attempt.
PSG made the perfect start when Ousmane Dembele struck in the third minute, volleying into the roof of the net to hand the visitors an early lead and extend their aggregate advantage.
The goal intensified Bayern’s urgency as Vincent Kompany’s men pushed forward relentlessly in search of goals to overturn the deficit.
The German side dominated possession for long spells and carved out several opportunities through Jamal Musiala, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz, but PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov delivered a series of important saves to keep the visitors ahead overall.
Bayern eventually found a breakthrough deep into stoppage time when Harry Kane reacted quickest inside the penalty area to stab home an equaliser on the night.
However, Kane’s late strike was not enough to prevent Bayern’s elimination as PSG held on to secure a narrow 6-5 aggregate victory and advance to the final.
The result marks another significant milestone for PSG manager Luis Enrique, whose youthful side has emerged as one of Europe’s most dangerous attacking teams this season.
For Arsenal, the final represents their first Champions League final appearance in two decades, while PSG will be aiming to retain their European crown.
The final is expected to deliver a fascinating clash between Arsenal’s disciplined structure under Mikel Arteta and PSG’s pace-driven attack led by Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
