The remains of the late Elder Statesman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, former Governor of the defunct Gongola State, has been recieved at the Yola International airport by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in company of family, friends and well-wishers.
TVC News had earlier reported that the family of the former PDP Chair disclosed in a statement that the late elder statesman will be laid to rest on Sunday, 13th September, 2026, after funeral prayers at the Lamido’s Palace by 10:00am.

Tukur died three days before his 91st birthday.
The late elder statesman is survived by two wives and 18 children, including Awwal Tukur, the Secretary to the Adamawa State Government.
