A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State, Ambassador Olufemi Oguntoyinbo has advised the National Caretaker Committee of the party, led by Tanimu Turaki, to rescue Nigerians from the hardship imposed on them by the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Oguntoyinbo said this in a statement made available to DAILY POST in Ibadan, the state capital.
DAILY POST reports that the Board of Trustees (BoT) of PDP, on Monday, ratified the appointment of a 13-member Caretaker Committee headed by Turaki.
It was learnt that the decision was taken at the party’s 103rd NEC meeting held on Monday in Abuja,
Oguntoyinbo, in his reaction, urged Turaki, the National Secretary, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja and other members of the committee to ensure that the unity the party is enjoying after the Supreme Court verdict is built upon.
“I wish to remind the committee that the task ahead is herculean and that the Almighty God will guide them right. We should do all that is possible to ensure our.party secure victory in the next year’s election.
“PDP is the only national party in the country and we should not disappoint millions of Nigerians who are looking up to the party to rescue them from the untold hardship fostered on them by the ruling APC,” he stated.
