Residents Shocked as Unidentified Man Is Found Dead in Manhole

Residents of Overseas, a suburb of Bibiani in Ghana’s Western North Region, have been left shocked after the body of an unidentified man was found inside a manhole.

The deceased, believed to be in his 30s, was discovered on Wednesday after some masonry workers reportedly went to the area to fetch water.

The discovery quickly attracted residents, many of whom gathered at the scene after hearing about the incident.

The man’s identity remains unknown, and some residents say he was not known in the community. This has raised questions about how he ended up inside the manhole.

An eyewitness, Stephen Donkor, said residents immediately alerted the authorities after noticing the body.

Police from the Bibiani Command later arrived and removed the body for further examination. During the recovery process, blood was reportedly seen coming from the deceased’s nostrils.

The body has been taken to the Bibiani Government Hospital mortuary, where it is being kept pending identification and further investigations.

Police have opened an investigation to determine the cause of death and whether any criminal activity was involved.

The incident has also renewed concerns among residents about uncovered manholes in the area, with calls for authorities to take action to prevent similar incidents.
