Cristiano Ronaldo finally ended his long wait for major silverware in Saudi Arabia after inspiring Al-Nassr to the 2025-26 Saudi Pro League title with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Damac on Thursday night.
The Portuguese superstar scored twice in the decisive win as Al-Nassr finished two points clear of rivals Al-Hilal to secure their first league crown since 2019.
Mane and Coman put Al-Nassr In control
Former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane opened the scoring in the 35th minute with a powerful header to settle early nerves inside a tense Al-Nassr Stadium.
Kingsley Coman doubled the advantage shortly after the restart following a slick one-two move before drilling his finish into the far corner.
Damac briefly threatened a comeback when Morlaye Sylla converted from the penalty spot, but Ronaldo quickly extinguished any hopes of a dramatic twist.
Ronaldo delivers in defining moment
The 41-year-old restored Al-Nassr’s two-goal cushion with a stunning free-kick from a difficult angle near the left touchline, with the ball somehow evading everyone before finding the back of the net.
Ronaldo then completed his brace late in the match with a close-range finish to spark emotional celebrations among the home supporters.
The victory ensured Al-Hilal’s 1-0 win over Al-Fayha FC became irrelevant in the title race.
Long wait for silverware finally ends
The triumph marks Ronaldo’s first major trophy since joining Al-Nassr in January 2023.
Before now, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward had only lifted the Arab Club Champions Cup, a competition not officially recognised among the game’s major honours.
His previous major club trophy came with Juventus when he won the Coppa Italia in 2021.
Ronaldo now heads into the 2026 FIFA World Cup with momentum after finishing the league campaign with 28 goals for Al-Nassr.
