Senator Aliyu Ahmed Wadada has emerged the Flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC in the just-concluded governorship primary that held on 21st May 2026 in Nasarawa State.
Prof. Theodore Maiyaki SAN, chairman of the APC governorship primaries in Nasarawa state, who announced the result, said Senator Aliyu Wadada polled 195,285 votes to defeat his closest rival, former Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, who scored 39,675 votes.
He said that Professor Mohammed Sani Haruna got 5844 votes, followed by former Accountant General of Nasarawa State, Mr Zaka Yakubu, PhD, who secured 396 votes.
Other aspirants in the race are Dr Liman Hassan Mohammed (SAN), who received 863 votes; Dr Fatima Abdullahi Adamu, 136 votes; and Tanimu Adabson, 64 votes.
Prof. Theodore Maiyaki SAN appreciated all the security agencies that were present to ensure the peaceful exercise in the state.
Earlier, former Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar Adamu had alleged irregularities and a manipulation plan in the ongoing governorship election held across the state.
The Director General of Abubakar Adamu campaign organisation, Barrister Musa Husseini, disclosed while briefing journalists in Lafia, the state capital.
