Ghanaian singer Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale has named his top three favourite Afrobeats artists, stating that they are a motivation to him and his music.
While speaking on the Afrobeats Podcast, Shatta Wale spoke about his personal relationships with each artist, revealing that he hopes to collaborate with them in the future despite their busy schedules.
“I met Davido first. He came to me and told me his dad loved a song I did way back. We had a very good relationship, but in life, when things start moving, they move fast and we have to accept that. That’s why people don’t really see me and Davido together on camera that much,” he said.
He also spoke about Wizkid and Burna Boy, stating that Burna Boy is like his twin brother
“With Burna Boy, he is like my twin brother. He came to Ghana when things were a little rough. Now, he is busy too. Wizkid has always been a laid-back person. The only time I really had a chance to meet him was when we had a show together. After that, we met once or twice at East Legon in my area. I feel he is busy too. I see all of them as motivation because I also have a mission in my country to push the agenda of going international. If they have been able to break through, then it means I should keep working on my craft and gradually we will have a good collaboration,” he added.
