Shay Carl Butler (born March 5, 1980) is an American YouTuber. He runs three YouTube channels, and both “shaycarl” and “SHAYTARDS” have more than three million subscribers. Butler worked with Corey Vidal to create a documentary called Vlogumentary, which had a budget of over $200,000. Most of the funding came from his viewers through an Indiegogo campaign.
Vlogumentary came out on April 20, 2016. Forbes described Butler as one of the “most successful video entrepreneurs on YouTube,” and in 2011, The New York Times featured his production company, Maker Studios.

Shay Carl Butler was born in Logan, Utah, on March 5, 1980, to Laurie and Carl Butler. He has got three siblings, and all his siblings are YouTubers.
After completing high school, he spent two years for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Guyana, Trinidad, and Barbados. He went to Idaho State University but dropped out to get employed.
